Subject: Dylan/Petty True Confessions 86 b'cast

On the Westwood Radio show of August 30th (or 31st), 1986, they broadcast
Bob Dylan with Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers culled from at least three
shows according to Olof Bjorner's on-line Dylan Archives Web site. The
information on that Web site is very concise and undoubtedly accurate, but
somewhat incomplete in regards to the other songs NOT by Dylan but by Tom
Petty on that radio broadcast. Does anyone know WHEN and WHERE the PETTY
tunes were recorded? (I'm attempting to make a label for the tape...)
Those tunes are listed below with an asterisk (*). I listed the other
tunes just to put it all into context... --Randy

Perhaps that's the city that someone |recorded the broadcast in. This broadcast is available on a number of CDs such as : Bye Bye Johnny Duelling Banjos Live Adventures Live Usa Lucky Old Sun Precious Memories True Confessions As typical among the less reputable bootleggers, they will intentionally misrepresent the source of a show to increase sales among the impulse buyers who have not done their research. I have seen Duelling Banjos listed in mailorder catalogs as coming from Seattle 1989 but others have reported that it is the same Westwood One broadcast that is usually misrepresented as live in the USA in 86. These CDs sometimes also contain Knockin' on Heaven's Door or are partials of the radio station discs. According to Dundas, 3 additional songs were broadcast outside of North America from the True Confessions tour. EDLIS Boot Advisory Agent
