Something like (a:aa/b:bb/c:cc) in the track list means that b:bb is the duration of the actual song. a:aa and c:cc indicate how much time of the track is due to introductions, tunings etc.
Review by Lonesome Sparrow
This CD is entirely devoted to Dylan's concert in Waterbury on 11 November 1975, but it doesn't contain the whole show. The first two songs are missing: "When I Paint My Masterpiece" and "It Ain't Me Babe". Also the recording skips in between some of the songs.
The source for this CD is a soundboard recording, but I don't think this CD has been directly copy of it, for the sound quality leaves something to be desired. I'm not saying it's bad, just that compared to the officially released live recordings from this period there is quite a difference. Certainly no reason to let it pass.
A reason to let it pass might be that you don't like the album "Desire". 6 of the 9 songs on that album were performed in this concert and made their way to the CD. Add to this that some of the other songs get the Desire treatment, that is, they are arranged thus that it sounds as if they were Desire songs as well. If you don't like "Desire", chances are that you don't like this CD, especially if you think there's much violin on "Desire". Me, I find "Desire" one of Dylan's best albums. I like this CD and I don't think there's too much violin on it.
After "Isis" Dylan says, "We'll see you in fifteen minutes", and then the recording skips to the point that he is back, saying, "you", probably the end of a "thank you". I would have edited this more neatly.
Before "I Shall Be Released" Dylan says, "This is for Richard Manuel". The track division falls in the middle of the word "Manuel".
After "I Shall Be Released" the recording stopped and is picked up 6 seconds before "Simple Twist Of Fate" begins. These 6 seconds form the end of track 8. I would have put them at the beginning of track 9.
"This Land Is Your Land" is faded in, I think during the intro, but I'm not sure, it might be somewhere further into the performance.
Crazy Joe rates the overall quality A (on a scale from F to A), meaning astounding, and the recording quality 8 (on a scale from 0 to 9), meaning astounding.
