I actually have a copy and it's stereo. I was very surprised when
I listened to this CD for the first time. I do not believe in
bootlegs, since they are poor quality, but this album is one of
the very few exceptions.

The title is "Soundtrack for the film Renaldo & Clara", released
last autumn or winter from Noriaa Records [NRCD 46029] (rumored
to be a Japanese bootlegger). The album has:

When I Paint My Masterpiece
Isis
Ballad Of Plain D (sung by Gordon Lightfood)
A Hard Rain's A Gonna Fall
People Get Ready
It Ain't Me Babe
She Belongs To Me
It Takes A Lot To Laugh
If You See Her Say Hello
Romance In Durango
One Too Many Mornings
House Of The Rising Sun
One More Cup Of Coffee
The Water Is Wide
Patty's Gone To Laredo
Never Let Me Go
Sad Eyed Lady Of The Lowlands
Tangled Up In Blue
Just Like A Woman
Knockin' On Heaven's Door

Well worth getting, but probably hard to find. My source could only get hold of a few, and sold them all before he got them, he definitely has none left. Lars

It sounds to me as if this CD is taken directly from the film soundtrack. Some tracks are snippets, some are just background volume with dialogue and noises overlaid, etc. It's the recordings of the on-screen performances in stereo and in such good quality that make this CD worth getting. Reviews of this CD can be found in Deep Beneath the Waves Vol 54 & Isis vol 72. This CD was very hard to get when it first appeared. I believe it has been released again as I have seen it listed again and in stores. I also have seen it listed as a CD-R and since the original was under 73 minutes, the CD-R can be expected to contain all of the original. I guess someone took a low generation copy of the film, recorded the soundtrack to dat, editted that down to 82 minutes to fit their needs (as a dat of this length is on some trade lists). Noriaa Records may have editted this or another source down further to 72+ minutes to fit their format. EDLIS Boot Advisory Agent

Actually Scott, I don't think there's anything more to say about this CD than you've said, apart from the fact it is in stereo, and AFAIK all circulating video copies of the film come from the UK Channel 4 mid-80s screening, which was in mono. This leads one to wonder how the Japanese CD makers got hold of a good stereo copy of R&C, of course. Alan
