The new issue of ICE (issue 102) September 1995 reports:
"A dazzling new four disc set from The Band and friends, THE COMPLETE
LAST WALTZ, sets a new standard of sorts. The set is dubbed from a mono line
recording of the entire 4-hour concert, warts and all, minus a) noise
reduction techniques, and b) the many overdubs that were added to enhance
the official release. Veterans are calling the packaging among the best they've
ever seen, a clothbound book-like case with a 36 page booklet on special paper.
The set, on Cool Daddy Productions, is limited to 3000 numbered editions."

Looks like "Hazel" will rise again. Anything else BD played that night
that was cut from the official release?

P.S. Detailed info also in this issue about 1) NYC raids 2) New bootleg
laws. It's long, so when I have time I'll post it.

Subject: The Complete Last Waltz From: Masato Kato Date: 1995/09/15 Newsgroups: rec.music.dylan Dear Boboholics people, I came across the brand new cootleg album "The Complete Last Waltz". Title: The Band / The Complete Last Waltz Label: Cool Daddy Productions Number: CD-001/CD-002/CD-003/CD-004 4 CD-set. Not with the conventional plastic case, but the case is just like a photo album. With 35 page booklet I got a copy at 12000 yen ($120) downtown Tokyo. This album has the complete Last Waltz show. SBD tape but the quality is not great. The bass sounds sometimes too big and distorted. Almost MONO. The tape I previously got is STEREO (not great quality) and the bass is not that distorted. The CD-4 has all the Dylan part of the show including 'Hazel'. from MASATO KATO - Boboholics/Deadhead in Japan

I am completely serious. This has all been discussed before, but they have done a very fine job of imitating the old 78 albums which came in a book style format. It is really well done. And nostalgic for all us old wrinklies and also for younger more recent 78 collectors. Not the only reason to purchase this item, but it is essential to even a small Dylan collection. The sort of item, music, production values and ethics which makes you realise how bankrupt Sony really is. (Talking morally and musically here, financially they know what they are doing in doing you and Bob.) Cool Daddy Productions have real style. Even the paper used feels right. If its not on your shelves, breaking the long boring run of cheap jewel cases, then EDLIS would respectfully suggest you have a serious problem which needs urgent attention. ed ed@edlis.org

This really is the "Complete" show with no editing and the songs presented in the order in which they were actually played. There are 17 tracks on The CLW set that were left off the official release. IMHO, this 4 CD set is a *must*. hooe@psy.fsu.edu (Eric Hooe) wrote: >Hi All, >I'm considering picking up this set: >BAND Complete Last Waltz (4CDs 11-25-68 in special packaging) >Would could anyone provide any information as to the sound quality of >this set?
