"Mountains of Madrid" is a rather pointless compilation of 1984 European
performances, taken almost exclusively from audience tapes. The theme is "a
bunch of '84 songs that weren't included on FROM THE COAST OF BARCELONA".
Combining the 2 STILL won't give you a complete overview of the '84 tour.
You'd be better off getting a full '84 show.

From the Mountains of Madrid, Razors Edge, Various Europe, 5/28 to 7/8/84 is
reported by P. Townsend in ISIS 58 to contain 2 tracks from the Slane PA
recording and the remainder from audience and he gave it a very good rating.

This is a companion to the "From the Coast of Barcelona" CD on the same Razor's
Edge label.
Quality is reported to be very good but is typical of the 1984 sound which is
not up to the current day standard.
Songs are reported to be:
It Takes A Lot To Laugh, It Takes A Train To Cry 06/30/84
Tangled Up In Blue 06/07/84
Heart Of Mine 06/14/84
Why Do I Have To Choose ? 06/03/84
Forever Young 06/03/84
To Ramona 07/08/84
With God On Our Side 07/08/84
The Lonesome Death Of Hattie Carroll 06/13/84
Man Of Peace 06/11/84
Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues 06/16/84
When You Gonna Wake Up ? 06/14/84
I Shall Be Released 06/03/84

I have this disc - it's a compilation from the at best pedestrian '84
tour, good track selections though with most of the rarer performances of
the tour - sound quality is however a bit erratic. With this disc's
companion piece 'From the Coast of Barcelona' which is the complete
Barcelona show - you have the tour pretty much wrapped up, if you're not
a completist.
Regards,
Ken.

MoM is a collection of songs from Euro '84, it the companion of 'From the Coast
of Barcelona'. Barcelona is a 2cd set which has the conplete gig +3 bonus
tracks from 28/6, Baby Blue, Tupelo and Pill Box. The first two with Van and
the last one with Bono (who makes a fool of himself). This is a great album.
MoM only contains songs not perfomed at this gig. 'Cept Watchtower but it is
with Santana and Barcelona is not.
Tracks are:
Train to Cry
Tangled
Heart of Mine
Why Do I Have To Choose? (W. Nelson I think)
F. Young
Ramona
God On Our
Hattie C.
Man Of Peace
Tom Thumb
When You Gonna
Released
Love Minus
Shelter
Watchtower
Quality is pretty good, very listenable, but nothing to write home about.
Personally I love them. I listen to MoM and Barcalona a lot. There is an
another boot also called 'From The Coast of Barcalona' but I don't remember
what is on it.
All the best
David
