Anyone know of a German made boot called Live at the Pitstop: Gaza Strip,
recorded in Seattle in 78? Opinions wanted on quality etc. please.

It's an audience recording, but very good, very little crowd noise, and an
excellent show. Feel free to spend your money, or ask someone for a tape
copy!

"Live at the Pitstop 78 - Gaza Strip" (Wanted Man Music) contains the
complete show from 10 Nov 1978 at Seattle. It's an awesome audience
recording, by far the best sound quality of any of the five or six 1978
boots I've heard. The performance is great, too. I prefer the shows
from late in 1978 as opposed to the early 1978 shows in Japan. I highly
recommend this disk, though I still have absolutely no idea where the
title of the CD comes from.
Keep on keepin' on,

Wow, funny you should ask - I just went to my local CD store here in
North Dallas (TX) and listened to a few tracks off this album. In my
opinion, don't bother. HOWEVER, if you: are an avid collector of all
things Bob, or just like to hear him at different stages in his career,
than perhaps you should.
My critique is based on a quick listen of 5 tracks, I found the quality
to be marginal (lot's of audiance noise, and "back of theatre" recording
quality) BUT THE BIG TURNOFF, nothing unusual here, just a standard
"live" performance in the late 70's.
If you can, get the "Phantoms of my youth" CD -not the greatest quality
either, but MAN does he sound great! PLUS, I really like the "Wedding
Song" wow, how come I never heard that before???(perhaps I need to buy
Planet Waves) anyway, I am soooo pleased with that purchase.
I really hope this helps. Uhm, By the way, would you know where I can
find Guitars Kissing and the contemporary fix? Anybody? PLEASE!!!!!

I bought this one because it was the closest thing I could find to Bob's
Sept '78 tour dates in NY, which were my first Dylan shows.
The sound is disappointing to me, but I'm perhaps harsher than others on
sound quality. I think its better sounding than the Blackbushe boot.
The performance has some good moments and some fairly bad moments, with
lots in-between. Good hard-rocking Masters of War, one of my best
memories from the Garden show.
It wouldn't be one of my highest rated bob boots, but when I was looking
(several years ago) there wasn't much else to choose from the Street
Legal tour. I thought I remembered there was a show from the Hartford
show, but I'm not sure.

Originally released on colored vinyl. Excellent mono recording.

Must say I agree with Glenn, and it's rather puzzling. There are some great
tapes from 1978 but precious little on CD (Border Beneath the Sun, but who
can find that these days?). I've always wondered about that.
